A Global Perspective on Mental Health and Human Connection

Welcome to The Washington Circle

The Washington Circle is a global hub dedicated to exploring diverse perspectives on mental health and its intersections with society, culture, and human behavior. Founded by psychologist, writer, and professor Élison Santos, the platform draws from his extensive international experience, connecting with professionals worldwide to address the universal challenges faced by humanity.

With a deep understanding of the interplay between psychology, social sciences, and cultural contexts, Santos has worked to bridge the gap between local practices and global insights. Mental health and social sciences are inherently tied to the behaviors and norms of specific communities, but globalization introduces both challenges and opportunities. While cultural clashes can arise, globalization also provides the chance to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives that enrich our shared humanity.

The Washington Circle embraces this opportunity, offering not only a podcast that engages with experts from around the globe but also a broader platform featuring weekly articles written by specialists in various fields. These contributions cover topics such as health, education, politics, society, art, sports, and more, all through the lens of mental health and human well-being.

Drawing on his leadership roles within organizations such as the International Council of Psychologists, the Global Network of Psychologists for Human Rights, and the International Network for the Study of Viktor Frankl’s Work, Santos has cultivated a vision for a platform that promotes understanding and collaboration across cultures. His ability to connect with professionals from diverse backgrounds and his fluency in multiple languages have further enriched this initiative.

The Washington Circle serves as a space where these insights and collaborations come to life, inviting readers and listeners alike to explore a wealth of knowledge aimed at inspiring personal growth, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and empowering individuals to navigate the complexities of the modern world. Through the podcast and the articles published weekly, this platform seeks to build a more compassionate and informed global community.
